Hi guys, my name is Anthony Fennell. I've got a wealth of experience with creative and persuasive writing. Before coming to Macquarie to study Primary Education, I studied creative writing at UTS and explored creative narratives in a variety of print, television and interactive/game media. Moreover, I've spent almost ten years as a debating adjudicator with the Department of Education's Performing Arts Unit. I strongly believe that communication in a variety of forms is one of the most powerful skills our students can learn. Strong communicators will be more successful in their education endeavours and their future careers. Creative and persuasive writing is a love of mine and I am very excited by the opportunity to share this love with others. Come to my Lesson Plan Sharing Session for great ideas to integrate English in your classroom whether that be for prac or even casual teaching!
Debating and persuasive writing are key skills that will empower our students throughout their Education careers.
This one hour lesson will introduce pre-service teachers to the skills and structure of debating at a primary or high school level.
This lesson will challenge you to think critically, argue passionately and to construct and analyse a persuasive text.
